About Us
During the media frenzy after John Denver's death in October of 1997, no one seemed to focus on the extraordinary humanitarian and environmental activist the world had lost.  In collaboration with charitable organization JD Spirit, The Rocketship Earth Foundation, a not for profit 501(C)3, will remedy this  by supporting the production of a major documentary film focusing on the important legacy that John Denver left and the influence he had on raising the consciousness of the world.  It is called "What One Man Can Do - The Power of The Creative Spirit" and we invite your support.
Who We Are
The Rocketship Earth Foundation is a tax exempt non profit charitable organization certified by the IRS as a 501(c)3. Donations received are tax deductible.

To facilitate, remind, promote, encourage, inspire, support and educate folks, especially young folks, around the world on how we each make a difference.

Dr. Betty Sue Flowers - Author, poet, internationally renowned business consultant, and currently the Director of the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum,director of KLRU PBS Network Affiliate TV Station in Austin Texas.

Rolland Smith - Author, poet and CBS morning show anchor, hosted John Denver’s annual “Choices For The Future Symposia” in Aspen Colorado and became a close confidante, friend and a Director of Windstar.

Hal Thau – John Denver’s business partner and manager and one of the original directors of the Windstar Foundation.

Donna Lipman – Professional Life Coach, Workshop Leader and Singer. Was a co-funder of Windstar New York, sang with John Denver in Aspen, and worked with him on several “Choices for Future” Symposia. Wife and partner of Terry Lipman.
Major Supporters and Sponsors
Dr. Noel Brown – As Director of the United Nations Environment Program, Noel supported John Denver’s Windstar Foundation events and contributed to John’s involvement as a mediator at the Earth Summit in Brazil. Also worked with John Denver on many environmental projects including co-founding the Aspen Global Change Institute now a recognized international authority on Global Warming and Climate Change.

Cheryl Charles – Directed the Windstar Foundation and published, with her husband Bob Samples, the international Windstar Journal.

Thomas Crum – Author, Aikido Master and a leading international spokesman on conflict resolution. Was a co-founder with John Denver of the Windstar Foundation in Snowmass Colorado. Tom was a close friend and traveled with John for many years as his security man.

Bruce Gordon – Close friend and confidante of John Denver who traveled with him on many major tours. He is a pilot who promotes the use of small planes to educate people about the state of the environment.

John Katzenberger - Director of the Aspen Global Change Institute an organization in Aspen founded by John Denver in collaboration with UNEP and the Amway Corporation dealing with climate change.

Dr. Phil Lane Jr. – Creator of the Four Worlds Development Corporation. The first indigenous person to win the annual Windstar Award. Dr. Lane works with Indigenous peoples in North, Central and South America, Micronesia, Thailand, India, Hawaii and Africa.

Martin. N. Leaf - John Denver’s friend and lawyer who also served as a member of Trailblazers, the Windstar Board of Directors, Buckminster Fuller Institute Board of Directors and many other Boards, including the est Foundation.

Malcolm McDonald - John’s close friend and personal assistant for many years.

Dr. Jordan Paul - Psychotherapist, college professor, author, business consultant and motivational speaker, co produced “Choices for the Future”

Pam Peterson – Western Regional Director of the Challenger Center, Worked with John when he served on NASA’s Board of Advisors.

Rev. Dr. David Randall – President and Executive Director of the WHALE Center (Wellness, Health and Lifestyle Education), served as program development coordinator for the Windstar Foundation and was John’s political lobbyist, helping him with a number of appearances where he testified at the Senate and at other hearings in Washington on the environment, music censorship and space issues.

Rusty Schweikert – An early NASA astronaut who walked on the moon and a close friend of John’s.

John St. Augustine – An award-winning radio talk show host, wrote about his friend John Denver in his book, “Living An Uncommon Life - Essential Lessons from 21 Extraordinary People”.

Steve Weisberg – A friend and a former lead guitarist for John Denver.

Robert White – Leader in professional development and human potential success training, continually donated executive training to the Windstar Foundation Board and staff, ultimately serving on its Board of Directors. Worked with John in Japan.

Bud Wilson – An original producer of the “Choices For The Future Symposium.

What Sets Us Apart

To complete the development and production funding of “WHAT ONE MAN CAN DO”, and move ahead with the filming.
Recent Accomplishments
September 2007 - A gathering at the Starhouse in Boulder Colorado to celebrate John Denver’s life, his legacy, the seeds he planted and the contributions he made to the world.

In October 2007 - Filming in Aspen Colorado the John Denver Tributes and Memorial Service with interviews with many of John’s friends and colleagues.
