Organization Overview
About Us
The Love Alliance is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that works to educate individuals on the many issues of social justice and to give them practical ways they can impact them in their every day life. These issues can seem overwhelming at first glance and often leave us feeling like we can't do anything to impact them; but this just isn't the case. It is the goal of The Love Alliance to form a community of people that can educate themselves on the issues and in turn make a difference towards them.
Our Programs
- Each month The Love Alliance has an "Action Project." This "Action Project" spot lights a specific issue of social injustice and gives a direct way individuals can participate that month in impacting the issue.

- Currently there are over 35 Love Alliance groups in four different countries. These groups are T.L.A.’s hands and feet on the ground. They vigorously work each month to do the organization's Action Projects in their communities throughout the world. They also work to educate themselves and their communities on injustice and their ability to make a difference. These groups are the heart of our organization and we are proud to say that our heart is growing every day.

- In 2008 The Love Alliance was able to distribute over 50,000 flyer cards with information on social injustice and each individual’s ability to make a difference towards these issues. In 2009 the organization hopes to double this amount.

- The Love Alliance team travels frequently to schools, conferences, music festivals and various events to spread the vision of the organization.

What Sets Us Apart
In today’s society it is fashionable to be socially conscious. The Love Alliance aims to take social justice beyond a trend by working to integrate justice into who someone is rather than what they do. The organization firstly works to educate individuals on various issues of social injustice. T.L.A. then takes this knowledge and puts it to work through monthly action projects, community groups, partnerships, events etc.
Objectives for This Fiscal Year
In 2009:

-We hope to add many more festivals to our calendar as each festival we attend has the potential to extend our reach by tens of thousands of individuals. This will increase our expenses greatly as festivals require a great deal of finances up front but we are confident that we will see the same return on this investment as we had in 2008.

- We are aiming at taking on several interns in 2009. Being on the road is hard work and will require many more hands if we are going to expand our presence. We are excited at the possibility of working closely with passionate interns who have a heart to make a difference towards social injustice and we will be accepting intern applications early 2009.

-In 2009 we hope to be in a financial position to begin to pay more staff and crucial volunteers full time. We know that it is only through the hard work and dedication of these individuals that we will be able to maintain The Love Alliance and move forward as an organization.

- We will aim to double our groups. By 2010 we hope to have 70 active groups throughout the world. We will also be working hard to strengthen and equip our current groups through programs and support.

- We aim to substantially increase the amount of informational flyers we put into the hands of the general public. In 2008 we distributed over 50,000 flyers and in 2009 we will make it our goal to distribute over 100,000.

- This next year we will be working with several bands on specific projects. These projects will get both band members and their fans actively involved in making a difference towards social injustice. The projects should also put us out on the road with these bands in 2009. This will be a great opportunity to meet more people and work with bands that want to use their talent and influence to positively effect communities of people.

- We hope to hold a large event surrounding a specific issue of social injustice. This event will allow for outreach towards specific victims of social injustice and will allow for individuals to get involved in a very tangible way. We are still pinning down specifics but we’re hoping to hold this event late fall 2009 and will reveal more as we come closer to the event date.
Recent Accomplishments
In July of 2008 The Love Alliance was privileged to have won the Myspace Impact Award under the category of Social Justice. We are so thankful and honored to have been publicly recognized for the work it continues to do as a community. We move forward knowing that this is just the beginning of great things.
