About Us
The mission of Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, eight years of age and older. SOCO will give our athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. SOCO does not receive any government funding, Kennedy Foundation money, nor do we receive United Way funding. We are supported entirely by the generosity of the communities we serve and offer our program at no cost to our athletes.
