As a psychotherapist, author, professor, business consultant, husband and father, I have pursued a greater understanding of how to live a more fulfilled life. Since what I can effectively teach is limited to what I have been able to achieve in my own life, I am my own continuing student. Fortunately, as a result of co-authoring the best-selling book, Do I Have to Give Up Me to Be Loved by You?, many doors have opened that have allowed me to deepen my understanding and more effectively live and teach my message. The heart as the essence of a joyful and fulfilling life has been my focus for the past twenty years. Applying what it means to stay heart-connected, especially in the face of adversity, is the subject of my latest book Becoming Your Own Hero.

Causes
The causes that I am drawn to and passionately support, relate the idea of living more from the heart to education, global peace/conflict resolution, and to our environment. These organizations include: PassageWorks, which applies to education the ground-breaking ideas of Rachael Kessler from her book, The Soul of Education; Pachamama Alliance that began out of the passion of Bill and Lynn Twist to save our rainforest and has now expanded to include working toward planetary social justice, environmental sustainability and spiritual awakening; and The Abraham Path Initiative created by William Ury, author of Getting to Yes and sponsored by the Global Negotiation Project at Harvard University, to open of a long-distance route of cultural and historical tourism that follows the journey of Abraham (Ibrahim) through the Middle East some 4,000 years ago and serve as a neutral platform for human encounter and cross-cultural understanding, community-based development and youth leadership.

How your life would have been different if:
-Teachers had encouraged you to express the yearnings in your heart?
-Classrooms had been safe for you to talk about what mattered most to...

We would like to connect with you on MTDN.com. We are grateful for every opportunity we have to build relationships between the web-community and the Children's Dream Fund. With the help and support of caring people, we have been able to make dreams come true for every child referred to us for the past 28 years.

This past year we granted over 120 dreams and will need everyone’s support more than ever for 2009. One of the dreams we recently completed was for 17-year-old Matthew whose dream came true when he and his family traveled to Hawaii to attend the Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Thanks to our generous community Matthew has memories that will last a lifetime.

If you would like to know more about the Children's Dream Fund and how you can help, I would be happy to talk to you 727.896.6390 or email sharvey@childrensdreamfund.org. Thank you for partnering with us to make children’s dreams come true.

Sincerely,

What great insight and work. Thanks to you and what a difference you might have made in my education, but the nuns did what they could. =0/
