Overview
About Me :
I'm all about Making a Difference!!
Things I Like to Do For Fun
Volleyball. Hangin at the beach with my friends. Croquet in Westcester. Visiting K.C. the dog. Travelling as much as possible. FIFA. Following the EPL. Trying to learn to play guitar. Movies and music. Spending time with the family. Going home to Colorado.
Issue(s) I am Passionate About
I really respect the work being done by the folks at Invisible Children (www.invisiblechildren.com). They have started a youth movement to raise awareness and funds about the mistreatment of children in Northern Uganda. This is truly grassroots philanthropy with a powerful impact. If you don't know about this organization I recommend you check it out. They have a great myspace page as well.
An Issue I Would Like to Learn More About
The sexual exploitation of women in the Congo. I recently saw a documentary about this issue that was shocking. There is also a new member on MTDN, called WORTH, that addresses this problem. More people need to be concerned with what's happening over ther.
My Personal Hero(s)
My Parents because they are two of the most caring and inspirational people i know.
My Favorite Movies
Lebowski, Legends of the Fall, American History X, Any P.T. Anderson flick (Boogie nights, magnonlia, punch drunk love), Dancer in the Dark, Payback, Crazy Love (demented, but cool)
My Favorite Music
Brother Ali, Devin the Dude, Outkast, CCR, Common, De la Soul, Allman Brothers, Taj Mahal, Method Man, Jurassic 5, Dave, Lil Weezy, Brothers Johnson, Jhonnie Cash, Meth, etc...
My Favorite Books
Confessions of an Economic Hitman - John Perkins, Notes of a Dirty Old Man - Bukowski, The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
Schools
Loyola Marymount
Los Angeles, CA
From Sep, 2003 to Jun, 2006
Really liked the cirriculum and teaching environment and Loyola (good teachers, small classrooms, etc...) but wasn't too involved socially. I really missed the big college feel without a football team and a large student body. Almost felt like going to a big high school. Gossip and such. You have to hand it to those Jesuits though, they gave me a great education. I would recommend Loyola to almost anyone. Still a CU fan at heart though. Somethings never change.
Fairview
Boulder, CO
From Sep, 1999 to Jun, 2003
Pretty normal high school experience. Involved in soccer all four years. Met some amazing friends there. Most of whom I still see on a regular basis. Lots of my crew lives out on the West coast now. But, still have a few friends in Boulder holding it down. Slacked off first couple years of high school until i realized I better start stepping it up in order to get in to a good college.

Causes And Collaboration
About My Causes
I'm sponsoring Grassroot Soccer on MTDN. I really wanted to support a charity that was using soccer to make positive changes in the world because that sport was so important in my life. Grassroot Soccer "provides African youth with the knowledge, life skills, and support to live HIV-free. We continuously improve our innovative HIV/AIDS life-skills curriculum, share our program and concept effectively, and utilize the popularity of soccer to increase our impact."

Please click on the link to their profile (above) and show support if you can. This important program needs your help!

A Few More:
Peace Jam (www.peacejam.org); HOLA (www.heartofla.org); Invisible Children (www.invisiblechildren.com); The Rock Foundation; Free the Slaves;
I Donate to these nonprofits:
Grassroot Soccer!!!!

The DJ Rock Foundation: Because the Rock does awesome work with Kids.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary: Because they save amazing animals and give them a safe and enjoyable life.

-Free the Slaves:
-Waiting Child Fund:
-Hispanic College Fund:
-etc....
Other Ways I Make a Difference in My Community and the World
I'm working with Jess and my Dad to "democratize" giving through the use of MTDN's cause-oriented, social network. We are going to help nonprofits all over the country get much needed technology, exposure, and donations, addressing important issues around the world.
Other Ways I Would Like to Make a Difference
Sponsor a nonprofit organization on MTDN that teaches young kids to play soccer. I would also like to volunteer for a soccer program where I could teach young kids the fundamentals of the game. Soccer rocks!!
People I Would Like to Collaborate With
Enthusiastic, positive, and driven people who aren't afraid to go after their dreams. People who believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. All my boys (and girls) who better be creating profiles and asking to be my friend. :)
Ideas I would Like to Share
It doesn't matter if you can only give a little to a cause you care about. If all of us can each give a little, collectively we can change the world. Please join us in this initiative.

Thanks for the add. We need all the help we can get. Find the Children can earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you’ll be supporting your favorite cause.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Find the Children as the charity you want to support. And spread the word! Download a flyer on www.findthechildren.com
