A Businesses Who Care National Sponsor

Organization Overview
About Us
EGI's mission is to improve the Haitian economy and quality of life by developing the business and professional leaders needed to build and sustain economic growth. It intends to accomplish this mission by providing moral and ethical business and entrepreneurial education - a sort of tailored MBA for an emerging market - through a business development and mentoring program customized for Haiti.
Who We Are
Economic Growth Initiative for Haiti, Inc.("EGI").

EGI is seeking funds from contributions and grants. These funds will be used for unrestricted operating expenses and special projects.
Our Organization's Mission
EGI's mission is to improve the Haitian economy and quality of life by developing the business and professional leaders needed to build and sustain economic growth.
Who We Serve
EGI will select highly motivated Haitians who have the desire to make a positive change in Haiti to be its program participants.
Our Programs
EGI will provide a 12-18 month management and entrepreneurial development learning experience for its program participants. The learning experience will include a management program for those participants desiring to attain management and executive positions and an entrepreneurial elective for those participants desiring to start their own business. For those who complete the management program, EGI will help them find employment opportunities that will utilize their newly acquired skills. For those who complete the entrepreneurial elective and develop a credible business plan, EGI will provide a path toward obtaining start-up capital for their businesses.

What Sets Us Apart
Through its relationship with Louverture Cleary School, EGI has access to highly qualified graduates with university degrees, work experience and business ideas. These graduates come from the poorest parts of the Port-au-Prince area, are highly talented academically and have spent their secondary schooling years studying at Louverture Cleary, a tuition-free boarding school that is recognized as one of the best secondary schools in the country.

EGI also has a strong relationship with the University of Notre Dame, which has an ongoing project in Haiti and has indicated an interest in developing a management training program.
Objectives for This Fiscal Year
1. Increase the Port-au-Prince program to 20 participants.
2. Begin operations in Jacmel, Haiti with a class of 10 participants.

Over the next five years, EGI intends to graduate a cumulative 230 participants from its management and entrepreneurial development programs in 4 locations and stimulate the startup and development of at least 23 new businesses.
Recent Accomplishments
1. Graduate first class of ten program participants.
2. Begin second class of program participants.
