About Us
Dreamchaser saves Premarin mares and foals from slaughter, gentling them, training them, and adopting them out into qualified homes. The mares, whose urine was collected to make the drug Premarin, remain with us in a sanctuary for their lifetimes. We currently have over 50 horses on five acres in New River, AZ. Nine are recent arrivals from feedlots and are still wild. Help us continue to support these horses!
We also are developing outreach programs with inner-city children and children in group homes - enabling them to discover the joys of camping, ranch life, and interaction with the horses. We will expand these programs as funds allow, since we want to offer our services without cost to underprivileged and at-risk children.
Who We Are
Dreamchaser is an all volunteer organization dedicated to providing horses at risk of slaughter with forever homes. We strive to educate the public about the drug Premarin, for which over a million horses have died. Historically the majority of Premarin foals have been slaughtered and served on dinner plates in Europe. We have placed hundreds of gentled weanlings and yearlings into forever homes.
Our Organization's Mission
Dreamchaser PMU Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc., was formed in order to rescue Premarin mares and foals from slaughter. We have the mares and/or foals transported from Canada to our ranch in New River. We then bring them up to good health, gentle them, teach them haltering, leading, standing for the vet and farrier, and ultimately adopt them out into permanent, loving, experienced homes. The mares deemed unsuitable for training as riding horses remain at the ranch for their lifetimes, in order to protect them from being rebred.
Our mission also includes the public about the methods used to capture urine from pregnant mares in order to create the drug known as Premarin. Premarin is one of the most popular drugs sold in the world. Thousands of mares have suffered and continue to suffer for this drug.
In addition, our mission is to educate children, especially underprivileged children, about the value of horses in their lives, and about the care and training involved with maintaining horses. We anticipate eventually having a riding program for these children, complete with campouts at our ranch, using Premarin mares and foals that we have trained ourselves with gentleness and love.

Leadership Profile
Susan and Jamie Thompson are the founders of Dreamchaser. Mother and daughter do all the gentling of the wild horses and foals, and do all the training. Only when a horse is gentled, haltered, and leading, are volunteers allowed to interact with the horses. Susan has been working with horses since 1971, and Jamie has ridden literally since she was 6 weeks old.

What Sets Us Apart
We are an all volunteer organization striving not only to save mares and foals from slaughter, but also doing all the gentling and training ourselves. We prepare the animal for a successful adoption by having him gentle, leading, loading in a trailer, standing for the farrier and veterinarian, and being healthy and happy.
Objectives for This Fiscal Year
Expand our programs with at risk teen girls.
Campouts for kids are scheduled for March, April, and May.
Raise funds for 21 additional stalls with shades.
Raise funds for a hay storage building.
Recent Accomplishments
We have recently been approved by the American Sanctuary Association! We are very proud to have met their criteria for inclusion, as we have 25 mares who will spend out their lives with us.
