Who We Are
The Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League, Inc (CCPAL) has operated in Bandera, Texas, since 2002. In 2005 it began managing the Bandera County Animal Control Facility and immediately turned it into a no-kill adoption center. In addition to private "surrenders," CCPAL now takes in all of Bandera County's stray or abandoned cats & dogs. All of CCPAL personnel are volunteers, some make a 40 mile round-trip to clean kennels and feed animals that the County would otherwise gas or drown.
Our Organization's Mission
The Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League, Inc, (C.C.P.A.L.) is a no-kill, 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization serving all of Bandera County, Texas. Its primary purpose is to rescue the County’s stray and abandoned cats and dogs and find them safe, permanent homes. By cooperating with other organizations it promotes spay/neuter programs in an effort to reduce the enormous pet overpopulation in Bandera County.
Who We Serve
CCPAL serves all of Bandera County's pet owners regardless of age or income level.
Our Programs
Apart from its Adoption Program, CCPAL has a Foster Program whereby pets live in private homes while awaiting adoption. It offers quarterly six-week-long Dog Obedience classes to help owners turn their boisterous dogs into happy & relaxed pets. It also offers low-cost vaccination & micro-chipping clinics

What Sets Us Apart
CCPAL differs from other rescue organizations in Bandera in that it has unlimited intake. Since we have a contract with the County we must take in every animal they bring to us, including dogs impounded as part of legal proceedings. The County euthanizes any animals we refuse.
Objectives for This Fiscal Year
CCPAL is actively seeking land on which to build its own shelter and facilities. It would not abandon the County's strays. Rather it would use the County Animal Control Facility as a staging point to purchase land on which to build and expand our adoption events, encourage more pet owners to spay or neuter their animals.
